Yes, ideally you do need formal testing experience or a previous testing role. The Foundation Level starts with the basics: terminology, roles, test process, test artefacts and the mindset of professional testers. You should, however, be comfortable working with software in general and have a basic understanding of how software is developed and changed in projects.
Our course is aligned with the most up to date version, the current ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level (CTFL v4.0) syllabus. We cover all chapters, learning objectives and keyword terms that are relevant for the official exam, including sample questions and exam-style exercises. If ISTQB updates the syllabus, we adapt our material, formats and examples and inform you before the course start.
The Foundation Level exam consists of 40 multiple-choice questions. The exam duration is usually 60 minutes (plus extra time in some languages or for special conditions, depending on the exam provider). You need at least 65% of the points (26 correct answers) to pass and receive the ISTQB Foundation Level certificate.
In most cases, the course fee covers the training, materials and preparation, while the official exam fee is charged separately by an authorised certification body. We support you in selecting the exam provider, language and format (remote online, public exam date or test centre) and guide you through the booking process. You can complete your ISTQB FL training with MeJuvante in three flexible formats that can also be combined. We offer an intensive 4‑day trainer-led course (onsite at your location or live online), a guided online self-study in 10 sprints with coach and MeJu Academy Bot, or a blended model that combines the 4‑day training with extended online self-study. Most participants choose the blended model because they rarely have four consecutive days available and prefer to mix live training, recordings and flexible self-study.
The official ISTQB guideline expects
around 19 hours of instruction for Foundation Level, which we provide in a
clearly structured format. In the 4‑day variant, this time is delivered as an
intensive, trainer-led course; in the 10‑sprint self-study path, it is
distributed over shorter, focused learning units. Plan with roughly 2–4 weeks
from course start to exam, depending on your chosen format, your study speed
and your selected exam date.
For LinkedIn cohorts and international participants, we typically offer English-language trainings. Depending on demand and on company requests, we also run German-language cohorts or company-specific groups in German or as bilingual (DE/EN) sessions. You can choose your desired exam language separately when booking the official ISTQB exam through the certification provider.

You need a stable internet connection, a laptop or PC and a headset or good audio setup. We usually use common collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams or equivalent platforms that work directly in the browser without complex installation. A quiet environment and, ideally, a second screen help you follow the slides and exercises comfortably, but they are not mandatory. The Training is done using Microsoft Collaboration suite, which can be utilisied even with a none-microsoft account.
Yes, many participants are funded by
